Most pet photography sessions take place in our Yorktown, VA studio, however, we also offer outdoor or on-location photo sessions upon request. We also understand that horses and some senior pets may be unable to travel to us, and can always make arrangements to come to you.

What to Expect During a Pet Photo Session
Similar to our family portrait sessions, we typically block off two hours for pet photos. This allows time for your pet to settle in, get comfortable with the environment, and build trust with us. It also includes time to review your pet photos and choose your favorites.
To ensure everything feels easy and stress-free, we provide you with plenty of guidance ahead of time. We always have bowls of water in the studio for your pets, and simply recommend that you bring along any grooming essentials for quick touch-ups during the day, as well as your pet’s favorite treats, a favorite toy, or anything else that is special to your pet.
During our pet photo sessions, there is no rush and no expectation for your pet to “perform”. We follow their cues and capture moments naturally, with gentle prompts when appropriate. The hardest part is choosing which photos to frame.
Pets We Photograph
We welcome all well-socialized pets – from puppies and kittens to senior pets, horses, and pets with medical and mobility issues. Each photo session is tailored to your pet’s temperament, age and comfort level, and all photo sessions move at your pet’s pace, with extra time, breaks and accommodations, as needed.
For the safety of our clients, staff and animals, we are unable to photograph pets with a known history of aggression toward people or other animals. All pets must be up-to-date on vaccinations, and owners must disclose any health or behavioral concerns in advance, so we can determine the best way to proceed or recommend an alternative approach.
Pet Photography Pricing
Pet photography sessions start at $695 with prints and artwork purchased separately. Most clients invest between $500 and $15,000, depending on the final artwork that they choose.
